Minutes away, the 2,200-plus-acre Bashakill Wildlife Management Area protects the largest freshwater wetland in southeastern New York and is a state-designated Bird Conservation Area.
Bald eagles and osprey are commonly seen, spring brings warbler migration, and waterfowl move through in spring and fall. The Bashakill is also an eBird hotspot.

Fish the Bashakill nearby, or make a day trip to the Beaverkill, Willowemoc and Delaware River trout streams for renowned Catskills fly-fishing.

My family had a wonderful stay at this very beautiful and comfortable home. It was a winter wonderland with a gorgeous snowfall — we hiked in the woods and totally enjoyed having a fireplace with big windows to appreciate the peaceful surroundings. The bedrooms were comfortable and the open kitchen, dining and living rooms were great. So was the TV/game room. We also appreciated how responsive Liam and his co-hosts were throughout our visit. We would love to return to explore more of the surrounding area.
